ASTROCAST8: Abel
Abel provides a well-rounded mix of experimental beats, organic soul, and lush synthetic textures for the 8th ASTROCAST in our ongoing series.
The young producer out of No-Cal has already released a handful of impressive and diverse EPs illustrating his refined handle in production, covering styles from experimental beats to ambient electronics.
This mix leans heavier on the beat driven tip, containing everything from hip-hop classics (The Pharcyde & Wu-Tang Clan) to tunes by newer experimental producers we've covered recently (InfinitiRock & Lapalux).
Check out his "Skipping Puddles" EP, which will be available for download via Rebel Magazine this coming Thursday (4/12) and contains remixes by Lapalux and Astro Nautico's own Obey City.

Blood Brothers
LOCUST HEAT W/ ZACKEY FF by paolo xz
KILL COPS W/ NATE NO FACE by paolo xz
08 - 4-bit hearts by CRIMEKILLZ
Though they're in the process of moving to LA right now, you can catch Zackey and Nate all over the digital map right now, with vox spots on the new Baron Zen, Mike Gao, Salva and more, as well as their new respective albums in the works. And if you missed it, make sure to cop Blood Brothers, a compilation of their older stuff, released last year... one of my personal favorites. period.

ASTROCAST7: Lapalux
ASTROCAST7 is full of earnest texture-laden, bass heavy experimental hip-hop courtesy of Essex-based producer LAPALUX (Stuart Howard). With his unique way of marrying tactile scapes and ground shattering beat elements, Lapalux has proven himself to be about as versatile as it gets in the wide world of futurist electronic music.
This mix has a triumvirate of unreleased Lapalux tunes that will do well to characterize his sound for the uninitiated, but really we would encourage folks to download the three EPs he has self-released in the last two years (see links below).
Stay tuned for the next Lapalux EP, Many Faces Out of Focus, out on Pictures in April, and cop the cassette, duhh!!

ASTROCAST4: Railster's Stupendo Sensation
The premier Italian ambassador of future beats n' bass, Railster has a well-established history of mixes for major cybernetic bass outlets like Jus Like Music, GCC Magazine, and UrbanSoul.ru.
Also a producer and ace remixer, Railster's philosophy comes through everything he touches.
"It's all about style. It's not always about music theory or audio skills to a make good song. I like when I hear an equilibrium of elements, with simple new ideas, with a new original style. That's what I care about."
*special thanks to Kae "Kaesthetics" for the voice.

ASTROCAST2: GOK Takeover (Presented by InfinitiRock)
Astrocast2: G.O.K. Takeover (Presented By Infinitirock) by Astro Nautico on Mixcloud
Our first guest-contributed Astrocast comes AN favorite InfinitiRock and his burgeoning Guns of Kingston collective.
This is an hour-long all-original beats 'n' bass frenzy to welcome the new year. And, as always, it's a lesson in texture.
The bulk of the material comes from GOK boss InfinitiRock and compadre Cayman. Hear some exciting new collaborations here.
InfinitiRock has a forthcoming EP on Base Trip called Apeirophobia dropping on March 12 and a full-length entitled PrimordialRecollection dropping on Asthsmatic Kitty later this spring. It gets the AN stamp for HUGE record. Both will be available nationwide digitally and physically including vinyl.
"GOK is an island of artists spearheaded by me. We have rappers, rock bands, folk artists, etc. We are aiming to put NY on the map and represent all sorts of unsung heros." -IR

this remix in particular is drivin me mad (u know i'm crazy for those r&b vox ;) )
Clicks & Whistles - When I Feel (Cedaa Remix) (via XLR8R)
and a couple from his soundcloud available 4 DL:
(my personal favorite remix of this track i've heard, keeps the original vibe but addin' that SuuUUuUB)
Next on the list is this dude Jamie from the XX, a band of some young lads and a ladette I kinda meant to pay more attention to but never really got around to it. never expected one of em to have productions chops like this though! he's got a slew of official remixes out & is slated to do this crazy remix/collabroation with none other than the great Gil Scott Heron.
first track that really caught my attention is this bonkers nosaj thing remix:
Nosaj Thing - Fog (Jamie xx Remix)
Here's one off the Gil Scott Heron joint:
