Triple You Tapes

So our buddy Ian of the seminal Friendship Bracelet has launched a new project this summer called Triple You Tapes. UUU Must Download the UUUTAPES SUUUMUUUR SAMPLUUUR, featuring 14 new flavors of summer you've never tasted. I've had the new Mane Mane joint 'Twnkl Sr' on repeat. When that shit hits 2:00... fuuugeddabouuutit. There's also a phresh new Mane Mane remix aqui.

First release forthcoming on UUUTAPES is Termeric's Natural Gel cassette, followed by fresh material from Persona La Ave. Speaking of Termeric (1/2 of Mane Mane), look out for his version of QUIET NIGHTS first week of September right hurrrr!!!!

Kuhn - New Remixes and Quiet Nights EP Forthcoming

Today my Spacemusik EP has been downloaded more than 1000 times since its release in March. Thanks to all who've tuned in and to my Astro Nautico brothers especially for pushing me to share my music on this blog.

To celebrate, I just posted up a trio of remixes all from the last couple weeks. They're
password protected bc I want them to be exclusive for you, the Astro Nautico community: pw is 'thankz'.

Also, the QUIET NIGHTS EP is just around the corner. It's been a pet project of mine for a while now and we're finally releasing it first week of September right here on the blowg.

The story is that I've been passing around a tape that used to belong to my dad, seeing if any producers I personally admire want to cut it up. The tape had a recording of 'Corcovado' by Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto that had been dubbed from vinyl to cassette back in the day. Sort of a gem because of how much grit is on it (and
because the original song is so gorgeous).

Anyway, I had already sampled the tape for 'Quiet Nights' (on our Atlantics EP). Thought it would be cool to see what others would do with it. The result, months later, is that we have three new versions from each member of the in-house krew and several
radical (still secret) guestspots... Stay chuned!!!!!!

DIBIA$E

The world needs to stop sleeping on Dibia$e already. Do yourself a favor and perk up before this shit drops or else tits ganna be a rude wake up call......

'Lumberjack' is the first single off the forthcoming Machines Hate Me LP out on Alpha Pup this winter. Album art by Guillermo Bonte above.

Lead single "Lumberjack" leans toward his psychedelic soul side, creating an orchestral maze more reminiscent of J Dilla than a flannel-clad forest dweller (presumably, it derived its name from his facility at chopping samples.) Yet it reflects only one facet of the producer, with the full-length fleshing him out further as a California cognate to Hyperdub's Ikonika -- one of the best at creating soundtracks that balance between the futuristic and the days when saving the princess was your primary concern.

LIL MAYNE @ OVER THE TOP

So the last Over the Top was well over the top because LIL MAYNE opened for Lando Kal & LBS! Illustrate - Back On The Juice

DAYUUMMMMMMMMMM DIS SHIT IS FINELY OUT. Our lovely MC Illustrate just dropped his debut album "Back On The Juice", produced entirely by Sifunk & Garmunkle (Obeycity x Paul Yonez). For those who nabbed our Blooperz tape back last August, most of these beats will sound familiar. 11 trax total with guest spots from Fresh Daily and Strictly Business. Mixed/Mastered by Benamin. Free download.

Ali Berger - Departures EP

Ali Berger = kid genius. serious live PA involving cueing up loops, live keys, dropping effects. apart from knowing Live better than the palm of his hand, the dude has a monome and actually has his hands deep in Max. when i was 18, the only thing i had my hands in was my pants.

"In March I realized I had a bunch of unfinished tracks that all sounded like they were saying goodbye to something. I decided I'd finish them all and put them out as an EP, and here it is: Departures. I paid a lot of attention to continuity and making a cohesive statement with this release, so hopefully if you listen closely you'll pick up on some things. As usual, you can dance to these tracks too. Download the EP for free at http://aliberger.bandcamp.com/, and come out to a show this summer!"

Live dates for Ali Berger:

6/16 links soundclash (boston)
6/18 summer 618 (snipes farm)
>w/Super Mash Bros,
