K Murdock: Subsoniq Radio

Being a producer myself, the first thing I usually notice about a hip-hop track is the beat, before the lyrics, the hook, or anything else. It's also what usually gets me to appreciate an artist at first, as is the case with Panacea. Signed as part of the resurgence of the Rawkus Label a couple years back, Panacea makes it's own brand of progressive hip-hop, but what stands out to me is the really unique and beautiful production by the producer half of the group, K Murdock.

He describes his sound as "neosonic" and hosts a monthly show of progressive instrumental hip-hop on XM radio called "Subsoniq". Here's the latest episode from this past Feburary. Lots of classic goodies you might have already heard, but it's a chill listen.

SS February 2k9 Episode

Check out Panacea as well.

"Chill" like CHILL, or "chill" like pajamas-outside-chill? Please clarify,
